Government issues resolution on TPP signing

The Vietnamese Government agreed to sign the “Trans-Pacific Partnership” agreement with Resolution 09/NQ-CP issued on February 2.
It authorized the Minister of Industry and Trade to ink the agreement.
Procedures required will be undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, according to the Resolution.

Full text of EU-Vietnam trade pact online

The full text of the free trade agreement between the European Union (EU) and Vietnam was made public on Monday, following the conclusion of the negotiation process in December.
The European Commission said that this would allow all interested stakeholders to familiarise themselves with the agreement’s content well in advance of the domestic ratification processes both in the EU and in Vietnam.

TPP may be officially signed on February 2

The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) may be signed on February 4 in New Zealand, according to Nguyen Quynh Nga, deputy director of the Multilateral Trade Policy Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Nga said the Vietnamese negotiation group was preparing documentation for the signing.
The negotiation for the TPP was completed in 2015 but to be formally signed, it must be adopted by the major countries involved, like the US and Japan.

Post TPP outlook bright for Vietnamese economy: experts

A brighter outlook is forecast for the Vietnamese economy this year and the following years amid difficulties and challenges, according to economic expert Nguyen Quynh Nga.
Nga, deputy Head of the Multilateral Trade Policy Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, told participants at a seminar on Vietnam’s Socio Economy in 2015 and Opportunity – Challenges held on January 13 in Hanoi, that the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) was expected to be signed on February 4, 2016, in New Zealand, and added that the relevant Vietnamese agencies were preparing a document for the occasion.
